Therapy for Adolescents

Adolescent Therapy is focused around the unique experiences that occur in this phase of life. The transition from childhood to adulthood is when adolescents experience dramatic change in nearly all aspects of their lives. In this dynamic period of growth, changes in the brain, body, and emotions seem to impact daily life.
In my practice I work with such issues as:
Depression, anxiety, social anxiety, sports performance, academic performance, trauma, impulse control, substance abuse, relationships, technology and social networking, body image and eating disorders.
Adolescence is a time of looking inward to find who one is, reaching outward to understand one’s place in life, and longing for another with whom to satisfy a need for deeper connection. I strive to create a safe, caring and supportive environment in which my clients can discover and implement their own unique qualities and tools to find solutions to their problems. We work together to build confidence, enhance relationships, and develop a healthy sense of self.
Through therapy individuals are able to work through issues inhibiting them from living their lives to the fullest. Engaging in the process provides an opportunity to work through the challenges adolescence presents and move into adulthood equipped with the tools and confidence to navigate future challenges.
